HARD WATER

HOW HARD IS HARD WATER TO LIVE WITH?

Heavy mineral content lurking in your water can wreak havoc on the appliances and plumbing in your home. Not only does hard water cause scale to build up inside pipes, restricting water flow, but minerals can also cause scale to mount inside appliances like water heaters and dishwashers, reducing efficiency and eventually cutting their lifespan short. Some effects are even more obvious as you watch unsightly scale dot dishes, accumulate on shower doors and collect on faucets and fixtures around your home. Traditional water softeners eliminate the main hard water culprit, calcium and magnesium, yet leave that unwanted slippery feeling behind. That’s because most softeners exchange calcium for sodium and create sodium bicarbonate, otherwise known as baking soda. Your water might be softer, but it’s not necessarily easier to live with. WaterTech offers proprietary solutions that strike the right balance of softening and conditioning, including the Reionator. It’s time to virtually eliminate all the challenges of living with hard water.

SOLUTIONS FOR HARD WATER

PFAS - FOREVER CHEMICALs

Have I ever heard of these "foRever" chemicals?

PFAS (poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances) have been widely used to make every-day household products such as clothing, carpet, cleaning products, leather, Teflon®, paints and more. While most PFAS - Forever Chemicals are no longer manufactured in the US, they are still manufactured internationally and can be imported into the US as chemical compounds, or inside consumer goods. We still have these chemicals entering our environment, and eventually our water. Because of their strong molecular structure these compounds take much longer to break down naturally than other organic chemicals, thus remaining in the environment and in the human body for a very long time. These chemicals are carcinogenic and have been associated with a variety of adverse health effects including cancer, immunity deficiencies, and developmental effects in unborn children.  PFAS is also referred to as PFOS & PFOA, which are types of PFAS in the water.

Lead

How does LEAD in my water impact me and my family?
The US EPA requires municipal water suppliers to test for lead, but often the greatest risk comes after treatment. Water is sent out through mains and service lines that can potentially affect millions of homes that receive their drinking water through lead pipes. Because lead is an odorless, tasteless and colorless metal, it can go undetected in the water supply, posing a serious threat to the safety of drinking water. Even low levels of lead in the blood of children can result in behavior and learning problems, lower IQ and hyperactivity, slowed growth, hearing problems, and anemia. Lead can also be dangerous for pregnant women and can result in serious effects to the mother and her developing fetus, including reduced growth of fetus and premature birth.

CHLORINE/CHLORAMINES IN WATER

AREN’T CHLORINE/CHLORAMINES A GOOD THING?

They  are, but many of us have a love/hate relationship with chlorine/chloramines. We’re thankful for their disinfecting capability that protects our lives and prevents biologic water contamination, yet their taste, smell and drying effects completely turn us off. What you might not know is that chlorine/chloramines are vital during the water treatment process at the municipal and distribution level, but their job is done by the time the water reaches your home. That means you don’t have to live with the negative effects of chlorine/chloramines anymore. WaterTech’s most advanced conditioning system, the Reionator, and other filtration systems can reduce the chlorine/chloramines in your water. The result is cleaner, better tasting water that you can trust. For more information, take a look at one of our Products:

CLOUDY WATER

SHOULDN’T MY WATER BE CLEAR?
Yes, it most definitely should be. When your water is cloudy, gray in color or hard to see through, it’s referred to in the water industry as “turbidity”, which is caused by dissolved or suspended solids that seep into the water supply. Often times, turbulent storms, heavy construction or urban runoff are to blame. What matters most is that you know what cloudy water means and recognize how to eliminate the problem. If water tests reveal that there’s a high level of dissolved solids including organics, minerals or other contaminants, we can recommend appropriate treatment systems that will have you breathing a sigh of relief the next time you turn on your tap. WATER STAINING

HOW CAN CLEAR WATER CAUSE STAINS?
Water is an extremely powerful force. Over time, it can dissolve just about anything, which is why our water supply can have so many dissolved minerals and chemicals in it. The most common are often iron or manganese–the culprits responsible for that rusty-orange or black staining that can appear on sinks, tubs and toilets. And, when pH levels reach a certain point, blue-green stains can show up on anything your water touches. If you’ve ever had to deal with this particular problem, you know how difficult these types of stains are to remove. If staining is plaguing your household, we have solutions that can help Our solutions include various specialty systems and the Reionator or SoftMAX softener. Virus, Bacteria, & Cysts

HOW PURE IS MY WATER?

Regulation and oversight can’t always stop bacteria, viruses and protozoa from causing waterborne illnesses. Granted, we live in a country where water treatment is highly regulated, but system failures do occur and some treatment plants aren’t always operating up to government standards. To ensure that the drinking water you and your family use is safeguarded against bacteria and viruses, you can install an in-home filtration system that acts as another level of insurance against biologic contamination. If you’re concerned about the safety of your water, WaterTech has solutions that help you make smart decisions about treating your water that will benefit you and your family best.
